7-Member U.S. Legislative Delegation Visits WTC Mumbai to Strengthen India–U.S. Trade and Investment Ties

Mumbai, June 23, 2026: World Trade Center Mumbai and All India Association of Industries hosted a high-level legislative delegation from the United States of America, to discuss opportunities for strengthening trade, investment, innovation and sectoral partnerships between India and the United States.
The delegation was led by Sen. Wayne Harper, President Pro Tempore of the Utah Senate, and included Ms. Kristin Kahalooa, Mr. Dan Saddler, Mr. Ron Winterton, Mr. Chase Blasi, Mr. Bryan Thomas and Mr. Chris Lee.Sen. Wayne Harper, President Pro Tempore, Utah Senate, USA said, “The United States and India, as the world’s oldest and largest democracies, share strong values and immense scope for expanding economic cooperation. We see significant opportunities to expand cooperation with India in high-growth sectors such as artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, advanced manufacturing, renewable energy and higher education. If the proposed India–U.S. trade agreement is concluded in the near term, it will create immense scope for expanding trade, investment and business collaboration between the two countries.”
Dr. Vijay Kalantri, Chairman, World Trade Center Mumbai and President, All India Association of Industries, said, “India and the United States share a strong and expanding economic partnership, with bilateral trade in goods and services exceeding USD 230 billion. This reflects the depth and resilience of the relationship between the two countries. As both nations work towards expanding bilateral trade to USD 500 billion by 2030, stronger state-level partnerships, business exchanges, investment promotion and sector-focused collaboration will be important to achieving this ambitious target.”
“The United States’ strengths in innovation, technology, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, life sciences and entrepreneurship complement India’s capabilities in IT services, pharmaceuticals, engineering, manufacturing and start-ups. Stronger business linkages between India and the United States can be built through trade delegations, B2B meetings, institutional partnerships and sector-focused collaborations,” added Dr. Kalantri.
World Trade Center Mumbai reaffirmed its commitment to promoting stronger India–U.S. economic engagement and supporting new opportunities for trade, investment, technology collaboration and innovation-led partnerships between the two countries
