MCA Rathod Trophy U-25 T20 cricket starts today

Mumbai, April 10: Twenty young aspiring teams, including reigning champions Dadar Union Sporting Club and last year’s runners-up New Hind Sporting Club will be playing for the top honours in the John Bright Cricket Club organised MCA Rathod Trophy Under-25 Invitation T20 knockout cricket tournament 2022-2023, which is scheduled to commence at the Police Gymkhana ground from Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

The tournament will be inaugurated by Chief Guest Amol Kale, President MCA, at 8.15 am. Guests of Honour Sanjay Naik, Vice-President, MCA Secretary Ajankiya Naik, MCA Joint Secretary, Deepak Patil, MCA Treasurer Arman Mallick and MCA Apex Council members and other dignitaries would also be present at the inauguration function.

John Bright CC which has always worked hard to promote and encourage young cricketers from Mumbai has from this year decided to include four more teams in the tournament. In the last edition 16 teams had participated, but from this year 20 teams will be participating.

Besides Dadar Union SC and New Hind SC, the other contender are National CC, Goregaon SC, Parsee Gymkhana, Bharat CC, Dadar Parsee Zoroastrian, Shivaji Park Youngsters, Sind SC, Victory CC, MIG CC, Shivaji Park GMCA, ymkhana, Dr. D.Y. Patil SA, Mumbai Police Gymkhana, P.J. Hindu Gymkhana, Payyade SC, Sainath SC, Parkophene CC, Bombay Gymkhana and hosts John Bright CC.

The initial round matches will be played at Mumbai Police Gymkhana ground, Bombay Gymkhana ground and Parsee Gymkhana ground.

The tournament will be played as per MCA playing conditions. The tournament will be a direct knockout basis and all matches will be played according to the Model Rules relating to the conduct of cricket tournaments.
