Bharti Foundation wins ‘CSR Foundation of the Year Award’ at 8th CSR Impact Awards

New Delhi,  November 2022: Bharti Foundation wins the title ‘CSR Foundation of the Year’ at the prestigious 8th CSR Impact Awards. CSRBOX and Dalmia Bharat Foundation co-hosted  the Awards at the prestigious India CSR Summit 2022, South Asia's largest CSR forum that  brought together 2200+ corporates, CSR foundations, government agencies, non-profits, social  enterprises, and scale-up activities in the development and impact sectors.

After rigorous rounds of evaluation, Bharti Foundation won the prestigious award out of 220 nominations across 16 categories. It speaks volumes about their programs that are focused towards making quality education available to underprivileged children in rural India and contribute towards their holistic development. The Foundation has been able to reach 1 million children this year through its education programs.

Ms. Mamta Saikia, CEO- Bharti Foundation along with Mr. Antony Nellissery, Chief School  Excellence – Bharti Foundation received the award on behalf of the Bharti Foundation family. The CSR Impact Awards encourages companies, CSR Foundations, and CSR implementing agencies to deliver high impact by adopting a multi-stakeholder approach, leading to excellence in project outcomes. Dr. Bhagwat Karad Ji, Honourable State Minister of Finance, Government of India graced the award ceremony with his presence. The other dignitaries present at the award  ceremony were Shri. Bhubaneswar Kalita Ji- Honourable Vice Chairman-Rajya Sabha, The Parliament of India; Chairman, Committee on Health and Family Welfare; Former Minister for Industry & Commerce, Government of Assam, Mr. Pankaj Rastogi, CEO, Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Limited, Trustee, Dalmia Bharat Foundation, Ms. Veena Reddy, Mission Director, USAID India, Major General Amit Loomba, Additional Director General, Ceremonials and Welfare, Army Headquarters; CSR Committee Member, India Army, and Ms. Debashree Mukherjee (IAS), Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India.

About Bharti Foundation:Bharti Foundation was set up in the year 2000 as the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises. It implements and supports programs in primary, elementary, secondary and higher education.  Since 2006, the flagship, Satya Bharti School Program has been providing free quality education to thousands of underprivileged children in 173 schools in rural areas across five states, with a focus on the girl child. The impact of quality education has been scaled-up by transferring the learning and good practices of this program to 2,35,811 students studying in 691 partner government schools across 11 states and union territories, through the Satya Bharti Quality Support Program, since 2013.
