The Cogeneration vertical of sugar mills has ensured supply of Green & Renewable energy with substantial reduction of transmission & distribution losses. The economic significance extends over Rs. 20000 Cr. and has helped sugarcane farmers to increase their income in addition to sustainability and stability for sugar mills.
The Association established in 2003 has been specifically catering to the Cogeneration vertical for resolving issues at the Government and Regulatory level regarding Tariff and other technological aspects. Conferences / Seminars / Workshops are also held in different parts of the Country for knowledge enhancement and business networking. Skill development & enhancement is also ensured through Training Programs. The Association also publishes the Industrial Cogen magazine in English and Nisarg Urja in Marathi on quarterly basis which have a wide circulation to the relevant stakeholders.
The Association has felt the need to recognize the excellent work of employees as well as projects with good management practices showing excellence in the cogeneration vertical, so as to encourage their good work and boost their moral. This shall help to serve as a source of inspiration for other co-workers too.
Association is holding a one day ‘National Cogeneration Awards’ function a first of its kind event in India; along with a Conference on ‘Empowering Cogeneration’ at ‘The Lalit’ hotel, Airport Road, Mumbai on Saturday, 27th August 2022 from 10:30 a.m. onwards.
The event shall honor ‘Cogeneration Jawans’ for the ‘Best Performance’ on All India basis for 3 individual category awards. The Bagasse based cogeneration projects shall also receive awards in the ‘Institutional Category’.
A total of 21 awards shall be given to the recipients out of 62 entries received in all the categories and subcategories. (Category: Co-op. & Private; Sub-category: Boiler capacity 67 kg/cm2 above and below).
The Award Ceremony shall be held in the presence of Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon. Minister (Road Transport & Highways), Govt. of India as ‘Chief Guest’. Shri Sharadchandra Pawar, Hon. M.P. (Rajya Sabha) and President, Cogen India shall preside over the
function in the presence of Shri Jaiprakash Dandegaonkar, Vice President of the Association.
Important luminaries from the Sugar Sector and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy particularly ShriDinesh D.Jagdale, Jt.Secretary (Biomass),New Delhi shall attend the event.
The Association shall also conduct the Conference at the venue in the afternoon session under the Chair of the Jt. Secretary (Biomass) as ‘Chief Guest’ and other senior officials from the State and Central Government. The Conference shall dwell on ‘Revenue Optimisation and Energy Conservation & Technology Aspects’.
