While announcing the 2nd edition of Skechers Performance Mumbai Walkathon, Rahul Vira, Chief Executive Office, Skechers South Asia Pvt. Ltd. said, “Keeping in mind our busy lifestyles, we tend to least prioritise our health. Skechers through this walkathon initiative brings the city together to celebrate the festive atmosphere whilst promoting fitness as a culture in India. We want to inspire people and invoke the need to be on the move and stay fit, through which people would experience walking from a different perspective altogether. Adding an activity as simple as including brisk walking in our day to day lives especially among the youngsters to achieve a healthier and a fitter self. Skechers not only made walking fun but with the GoWalk 5 shoes it aims at giving the user the most comfortable walk ever.”
Present at the announcement, Indian Cricketer Mithali Raj who was delighted to be associated with Skechers Mumbai Walkathon shared her thoughts. “I am glad to be associated with the brand for the Skechers Performance Mumbai Walkathon which is taking a step ahead to educate people about the importance of walking and motivating them to stay fit by using the simplest means. Being a cricketer, it requires a lot of stamina on field and by including an activity as mild as walking; one can start building stamina too. I very much resonate with Skechers as we share the same believes in fitness and performance, and urge all to push themselves for a fitter, healthier self, starting by participating in the Walkathon by Skechers.’’
Adding to this, Bollywood Actor Siddhant Chaturvedi said, “Over the years I have realised the importance of fitness and I make it a point to stay as active as possible on my feet. I make sure to dedicate at least an hour daily to workout. It could be anything from brisk walking, running, jumping, and swimming. It helps me not only to be physically fit but also mentally positive. I would like to recommend everyone to make fitness, as simple as walking a part of their life, and encourage each and every one to join the Skechers Performance Mumbai Walkathon to take the first step”.
Fun experiences from street artists, musical performances, rolling band, comedy gigs at the end of the finish.
